In the book, Sally’s daughters names are switched and they are more vocal than their film adapted counterparts. One thing I really liked about the book is that it doesn’t have all the Hollywood-style romance and schmaltz that the movie threw in. For sixty years, books have been as essential to me as oxygen, but this writer is something special. The filmmakers were unable to find exactly the house they wanted in the type of location they envisioned, so they built this elaborate exterior instead.
